What To Expect During A Photofacial (IPL) Treatment

  • Before the procedure you will be given protective eyewear to protect your eyes from the bright flashes of light.
  • A cool gel is then applied to the treatment area (this both lubricates the hand piece and will keep your skin cool during treatment).
  • Your practitioner will apply brief pulses of bright light to your skin using the Forever Young hand piece.
  • The length of time required depends on the size of the area being treated. It can take 15 minutes to an hour.

What is the difference between a Photofacial, Fotofacial, and Photorejuvenation?
All 3 treatments refer to the same type of procedure where you heat and stimulate the inner dermis (skin) to provide cell gene rejuvenation while keeping the outside of your skin cool and protected. The type of technology may differ but they are virtually the same concept.
Is a Photofacial (IPL) painful? What is the downtime?
Most clients experience little to no pain during the procedure. The light pulse can sometimes feel like a “light snap” from an elastic band. Most common side effects include minor inflammation or redness which subsides within a few hours to days after the treatment.
How Many Treatments Will I Need to See a Difference?
Most clients report noticing a difference quickly after one session. The amount of sessions required depends on the severity of the aesthetic issue you are trying to resolve. In some cases 3 sessions or more are required.
